How To Find A Sponsor For The Event
Good afternoon, dear readers. We continue a series of articles on the organization of hakatons. Tonight, we'll deal with a particularly worrying subject, the search for sponsors, their involvement and subsequent retention. Possible errors and underwater stones will also be considered.
How do you find the sponsor of the event? Why are companies sponsoring hackatoes? There are several possible motivations for the Hakaton sponsor and for this sponsor.
Hakaton's sponsor's motive.
Sponsor companies give their money to get something in return. Of course, it happens that they are co-sponsored out of sympathy (especially relevant to low-cost student projects), but at least they need to avoid disappointing partners. According to HackDay's internal classification, the sponsors are divided into four large groups of tasks that they want to accomplish through the Hakaton.
Target No.1: Project selection and withdrawal
Active for Russian and large regional funds, business incubators and corporations that cultivate projects. Hakaton is becoming a " sit " for zero-stage projects. The co-sponsor has access to fresh crews, still plastic-flexible by age, and can attract positive projects and develop on its own site.
This group of sponsors is looking at the idea of the project, the experience of the founder, the reliability of the team.
The most important thing is adequate exit projects. First, it will be necessary to work on the search for the right people, and within 48 hours of hakaton (as in HackDay) to transform ideas into viable prototypes.
Target No. 2: Promo brand
International and large Russian companies are required. This is where we need to work with information support before and after the event, inviting the media to the Hakaton site. On their way out, such sponsors will want to see a large audience and a good number of media publications.
Target No. 3: New product or technology
In this case, it is important for the sponsors to see that information on new developments has been reported to the Hakaton participants. Special awards for projects using this technology or product will be well developed and craftsmen will tell the sponsors how innovation can make life easier and useful in practice.
